The handyman service works independently of moving
The handyman service is often needed as part of a move: furniture is disassembled in the old home and assembled in the new one. But this work can also be ordered separately — for example, to assemble a wardrobe bought from a store, install an air conditioner or mount a shelf on the wall.
The thing most often lost during disassembly is screws. That is why each piece of furniture’s fixings are collected in a separate labelled bag; assembly at the new address is fast and no parts are left over. Glass-door and mirrored parts are protected separately, and kitchen units are carefully fitted to the water and gas lines.
Order matters when installing appliances: a washing machine’s transit bolts must be removed, the hose connected correctly and the machine levelled. When installing an air conditioner, the wall material — concrete, brick or drywall — is taken into account, because the fixings depend on it.
Tools, screws and wall plugs come with the handyman — you don’t need to go to the store. If you also need a move, the service is planned together with home moving and completed on the same day. For office furniture, see the office moving page.
