How intercity cargo transport is organised
Intercity cargo transport differs from moving within the city in two ways: the road is long and the cargo stays in motion for hours. That is why the main question is how the cargo is secured in the vehicle — furniture or appliances that are not secured properly can slide and get damaged on the way.
On regional trips Yük.az straps the cargo to supports, fills the gaps and covers it with a tarpaulin depending on the weather. Transport from Baku to Ganja, Shaki, Lankaran, Guba, Gabala, Shirvan and other regions is done the same way.
The price is calculated by distance and cargo volume. If we have a return trip in that direction, the order becomes more affordable — it’s worth asking about this when you call.
Ordering by phone is enough: the operator asks which region and how much cargo is to be transported, and tells you the amount on the same call.
When planning intercity cargo transport, the first thing clarified is the volume and weight of the cargo. The belongings of a small apartment and a full warehouse load are not carried in the same vehicle: a van is enough for the first, while the second needs a curtain-side or large-body truck. When taking the order, the operator asks about the number of rooms or the approximate number of pallets so the vehicle doesn’t make a wasted trip to the address.
The second question is the road itself. A trip from Baku to remote regions takes several hours, and during this time the cargo is constantly exposed to vibration. That is why corner protectors are fitted to furniture, appliances are wrapped in bubble wrap and boxes are stacked so no empty space is left. Empty space is the main reason cargo slides on the road.
How the price of intercity cargo transport is calculated
The timing of a regional delivery is also agreed separately. For some customers it is important that the cargo arrives early in the morning — in that case the trip starts at night. In other cases the vehicle sets off during the day. In both options the driver calls ahead when approaching the address so people are ready for unloading.
As for the price, intercity cargo transport is not charged at the city rate. The main factor is distance, followed by the volume of the cargo and the type of vehicle. If we have a return trip in that direction, we accept the order at a more affordable price so we don’t return empty — it’s worth asking about this when you call.
The price of a trip depends on three things: the distance, the size of the vehicle and the time spent on loading and unloading. On long routes such as Baku–Ganja, if the vehicle cannot return the same day, this is also taken into account. That is why the price is given once the addresses and cargo volume are clear.
Trips with a return load are more affordable. If the vehicle is going in that direction anyway, the rate for your cargo goes down. If you can keep the date flexible, we will offer you this option.
